With reference to your letter No.2000/1922

dated 28th March, 1924, and my reply thereto No.C.R.9650 dated 14th April, 1924, I have the honour to inform you

that the War Office have agreed to the surrender of the

land at Fly Point and Elliott Battery, referred to in the Oakley Award as containing in area 191,450 square

feet and valued at $76,580 as a free gift to your

Government, for the purpose of the construction of additional buildings for the Hongkong University.

I am directed to suggest that the land

be transferred to your Government direct and that a formal memorandum of transfer be prepared and signed in

the manner of similar transactions under the Colonial

Military Lands procedure.
